Pastor Barney & Sue Emanuel

Pastor Barney is a preacher, teacher, life coach, counselor, and motivational speaker. His birth name, Barnabas, means “a son of Encouragement,” and he lives out that calling by mentoring families, business leaders, and the youth. Affectionately known as “Pastor B,” he is also a worship leader and drummer, fulfilling a prophecy spoken over his life at age 11.

Pastor Barney’s ministry roots run deep. His first steps were taken under the leadership of his grandfather, Dr. G.R. Zacharias, and his uncle, Pastor Vivian Sarawan, and he stepped into active ministry as an Associate Pastor in KZN in 2000. Alongside his wife, Minister Sue Emanuel, who teaches the ordinances of God and Kingdom principles, he served at Eagles Nest Ministries before the couple, together with their eldest daughter, relocated to Gauteng in 2008. There, they were ordained under Bishop Eric D. Garnes, where Pastor Barney served as a regional pastor, Worship Team overseer, and head of the midweek home fellowship groups, before opening the doors of El Roi The Tabernacle of Hope in Morehill, Benoni.

For over 25 years, Pastor Barney and Sue have mentored and equipped people young and old, raising leaders with love and care. Together with their daughters, Bianca and Beth, they believe in transforming families and seeing every household thrive in the purpose God has for it. Their vision is to see the body of Christ come together, serve communities, and take the gospel to the lost. People are their passion, and transformed lives are their reward.
